Our purpose

Innovative Windpower AG’s approach to business is a reflection of this purpose, supported day to day by our codes of behaviour, which promote honesty, transparency and integrity in all that we do.


Why we have produced this Statement of Business Principles?

There is a gathering trend around the world for people to expect more of a company than simply delivering a product. We are glad to see this trend. As an international company operating in many different social and business environments, we are proud of our reputation for high standards in all of our operations. Maintaining this reputation is central to our business success. We are very conscious that ethical standards apply not only to the professional services that we provide, but also to the way that we run our business. Our business principles, built on our vision and values, guide the way that we approach our business activities on a day-to-day basis.


To whom and what are we responsible?


Our clients

Our clients’ legitimate needs are the primary driving force of our business, subject always to the overriding requirement that we shall always act with the highest integrity and with due regard for the principles of sustainable development. Where tasks or instructions appear contrary to the interests of society or the environment, we shall aim to make clients aware of this and endeavour to persuade them to alter their instructions.

Our staff

The success of our business depends on the full commitment and loyalty of all staff. We respect the human rights of all staff and strive to provide them with safe and healthy conditions of work, and competitive terms and conditions of employment.

Our shareholders

We have a duty to protect shareholders’ investments and to provide an acceptable return that rewards their financial commitment, with due regard to the long-term health of the business.

Those with whom we do business

We seek mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, providers of services and joint-venture partners. The ability to comply with our business principles effectively will be an important factor in the decision to enter into, or remain in, such relationships. We require representatives, consultants and third-party contractors to accept and abide by our principles, signified by acceptance of our terms and conditions of engagement.

How we as a group discharge our responsibilities

This Code of Business Practice is designed to address the changing marketplace within which we are working, as well as the expectations of our clients, staff and partners.

General

Our corporate purpose is equally applicable to our staff as it is to clients and the ultimate beneficiaries of our professional services. The way in which we deliver our purpose defines not only who we are, but also what we are, and this means that Innovative Windpower AG must be ethically, environmentally and socially responsible in all we do, acting honestly and fairly in our dealings with our staff and others.

Our staff

We promote the appropriate development and best use of human talent, and while recognising prevailing cultural practices, are committed to equal-opportunity employment and the avoidance of discrimination. Sexual or racial harassment will not be tolerated. We aim to treat everyone with respect, trust and dignity, and to work together to resolve disagreements. The involvement of all staff in the planning and direction of their work is actively encouraged and we look to staff to apply our business principles to everything that they do.

Economic principles

Profitability is essential to enable us to abide by our principles and discharge our responsibilities. It is a measure both of our efficiency and of the value that clients put on our services. It is also essential to support continuing investment so that we can develop our skills and technology and meet our clients’ needs more effectively than our competitors.

Business integrity

Corruption, bribery and unfair, anti-competitive actions distort markets and hamper development in many of the world’s markets. At Innovative Windpower AG we insist on honesty, integrity and fairness in all aspects of our business, and expect the same in our relationships with all those we do business with, wherever that may be. Innovative Windpower AG staff members are required to comply with the laws applicable in the countries where they are working. While we recognise that limited corporate hospitality is given and received as part of building normal business relationships, staff should avoid accepting hospitality or gifts which might appear to place them under an obligation. Bribery of any form is unacceptable. No employee may offer, give or receive any gift or payment, which is, or may be construed as, a bribe. Staffs are required to avoid any contacts that might lead to, or suggest, a conflict of interest between their personal activities and the business of the group, or between differing business activities within the group. No undisclosed or unrecorded account, fund or asset shall be established or maintained, and proper and full records must be made of all transactions on behalf of the firm. Supporting documents must accurately describe and reflect the nature of the underlying transactions.

The environment

We are committed to the process of continuous improvement in the management of the environmental impact of what we do and to our longer-term goal of developing a sustainable business. At Innovative Windpower AG, we work in partnership with others to promote environmental care, increase understanding of environmental issues and disseminate good practice.

Social responsibility

We aim to act in a socially responsible manner, properly considering the impact on others of everything we do, within the laws, customs and traditions of the countries in which we operate, and to contribute in a responsible manner to the development of communities.


What is expected from Innovative Windpower AG staff?

Personal conduct

We expect honesty, openness and courtesy from all staff in their business dealings. This means that we must all act in an ethical, honest and professional way and respect the dignity and human rights of colleagues and the people we do business with. We expect all staff to report promptly to the company any violations of law or ethical principles or company policies that come to their attention, and to co-operate fully in any audit, enquiry, review or investigation by the company. Any demand for, or offer of, a bribe or inducement to act in any way contrary to this code must be rejected immediately and reported to the responsible manager.

Words into actions

We are judged by how we act. It is vital that our behaviour matches our intentions. Senior managers are expected to be ethical role models and to demonstrate visible support for the Code by regularly encouraging adherence by staff. Managers must ensure all their staff receive guidance and supervision (including training where appropriate) on ethical behaviour and legal compliance relevant to their job. Staffs that are found to have failed in complying with this Code will be liable to disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
