The Integrated Tubular Gear System (ITGS) as an outstanding innovation in the drive train concept of the Falcon 1.25 MW is a two stages planetary gear system designed exclusively for IWP by gearbox experts with a wide range of experience in the field of wind turbine gearboxes. The two planetary stages developed respecting the load dividing principle allows a compact design with an extreme receptiveness of incoming forces. Flex Pins beeing an innovative feature of the ITGS secure the parallel intercation of the toothing and absorb deflections.The mid speed working range of the ITGS allows to renounce the third gear stage with all it’s known problems and also leads to the modular design of the ITGS and also respects the needs of easy maintenance on board of the Falcon 1.25 MW.
